David Tafel
Position: Chief Executive Officer & Director
Mr. Tafel holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Western Ontario and contributes over 30 years of corporate structuring, strategic planning, financing and management experience to the Company. He has been a officer and director of a number of private and publicly listed resource companies. He was a co-founder of MBMI Resources which discovered and developed a producing Philippine nickel mine, reaching a peak market cap of over $450mm. He also founded Garson Gold Corp and led the $12mil financing to buy the New Britannia, Manitoba gold mine, which later sold for over $40mm. Mr. Tafel previously managed private investment funds at the (then) largest independent Canadian securities firm.

Jeremy Wright
Position: CFO & Director
Mr. Wright brings over 20 years’ experience as President and CEO of Seatrend Strategy Inc. He currently serves as a Director of Infinitum Energy, Westmount Minerals, and Centurion Minerals, and previously served as a Director with Pontus Protein, TGS Esports, Gold Mountain Mining (formerly Freeform Capital), Pacific Community Resources Society, the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association and several community associations and municipal advisory boards. Additionally, Mr. Wright currently serves as the CFO for several public and private companies including: Portofino Resources, Westmount Minerals, Infinitum Energy, and Centurion Minerals, and previously served as CFO for Alpha Cognition, Avant Brands (formerly GTEC Holdings), Pontus Protein (formerly AmWolf Capital), and Gold Mountain Mining (formerly Freeform Capital). Prior to Seatrend, Mr. Wright spent 6 years in a senior role at Deloitte LLP. He has broad experience working with senior management developing strategies and solutions to business issues mainly related to corporate finance, cost and risk management, and governance focused on clients in the life sciences, regulated marijuana, technology, and mining sectors. He has been interviewed by Global Business Reports for their report “Territories Mining and Exploration 2012”; and authored “Extracting Value – Yukon Mining 2011” for the Yukon Chamber of Mines. Mr. Wright is a Chartered Professional Accountant (Certified Management Accountant), and holds a Bachelor of Arts, with honours in Environmental Economics from Brock University.

Joseph Del Campo
Position: Director
Mr. Del Campo holds a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation. Interim President & CEO of Unigold Inc. from February 2015 to October 2019. Interim Chief Financial Officer of Viper Gold Ltd. From August 2010 to November 2015. Mr. Del Campo was Chief Financial Officer of First Nickel Inc. from June 2005 to December 2011. He is a former Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Unigold Inc. He serves as a director for a number of public companies including Unigold Inc., Terreno Resources Inc., and PJX Resources Inc.

Dennis LaPoint
Position: President & Director
Dr. LaPoint brings over 26 years of experience working in Suriname, where he led a geological team that was responsible for the discovery of the Merian Mine, now owned and operated by Newmont Corporation. Additionally, as Exploration Manager for Cambior/Iamgold, Dr. LaPoint played a significant role in expanding and identifying mineral resources beyond the boundaries of the Rosebel, Suriname mine concession (now owned by Zijin).
He has authored numerous NI 43-101 technical reports related to projects in Suriname, demonstrating his expertise and compliance with Canadian reporting standards. In addition to his technical contributions, Dr. LaPoint has provided advisory and management services for a variety of stakeholders, including private investors, concession holders, junior mining companies, and the state mining company, further supporting the successful development of mineral projects in the region. In Guyana, as VP Exploration for Omai Gold Mines, he developed the exploration program that is currently leading to positive mineral resource developments.
